The artist

Through the back door.

There was no art school at first, just the joy of doodling and daily quests of discovery. Hours in the mountains with a field journal led to a graduate degree in natural science illustration, an M.S. in environmental studies, and in 2015, finally, art school: an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Art. For twenty years the work has connected art and conservation, in field sketches, commissions, original woodcuts, teaching and place-based installations.
